SVE Granted $175,000

The Sisters of Charity Foundation in Canton has approved Sandy Valley Elementary for $175,000 in funding to participate in the SPARK Ohio and Ready Schools project through December of 2015.  SPARK (Sustaining Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids) is a highly effective, family-focused intervention program that works collaboratively with families, schools and the community to increase children's readiness for kindergarten, increase parents' effectiveness as learning advocates for their children, and improve children's transitions into elementary school.  Thus far, the program has helped over 2,200 Ohio families prepare their preschool-age children for kindergarten.

Middle School Named "School of Promise"

Sandy Valley Middle School has been designated a "School of Promise" by the Ohio Department of Education.

Community members can now receive Emergency Notification phone calls from the school district.
